What’s new on the Clifton 11
HOKA has not rewritten the blueprint. The Clifton 11 keeps the geometry that made the 10 a staple and concentrates the update on the part of the shoe you interact with first.
The headline change is an elevated engineered mesh upper, a jacquard warp knit that trades the sportier look of the 10 for a cleaner finish. Underneath sits a premium sockliner designed for a softer feel at the instep.
Rounding it out: 3D printed touchpoints add dimension to the upper, reflective details bring visibility accents to early starts and evening runs, and a double-lace lock helps keep the tongue in place as you move.

Underfoot, the Clifton 11 uses a compression-moulded EVA midsole to build its cushioned ride without adding significant weight. HOKA’s rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame cradles the foot within the midsole, while the Smooth MetaRocker geometry is designed to support a fluid transition through each stride. A Durabrasion rubber outsole adds durability where the shoe meets the road.
Clifton 11 vs Clifton 10: what changed
Short answer: the upper.
Both versions share an 8 mm heel-to-toe drop, the same listed stack heights, a CMEVA midsole and a Durabrasion rubber outsole. The 11 is listed 0.07 oz heavier in a men’s 10.
The difference sits up top. The 10 paired a creel jacquard knit upper with a standard sockliner. The 11 moves to an elevated engineered knit construction and a premium sockliner, so the refreshed upper may feel different around the instep.
It is a considered update rather than a reset.
