About Champion

Reliable heritage brands like Champion always come in clutch. And the New York-based sportswear maven has been at the forefront of high-quality athletic apparel since 1919. The first Champion hoodies were made for University of Michigan athletes to wear as practical warm-up and warm-down gear in the 1930s. Not only were they the first Champion hoodies, but also the first hooded sweatshirts ever made. So we have Champion to thank for creating one of the most-beloved wardrobe staples. The quality of the uniforms were so remarkable that they were was certified by the American Institute of Laundering, making it the first product line to receive such recognition.
